CatchTunes Terms of Service
Effective date: 27 October 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
CatchTunes is a Discord app and a website with a dashboard at https://tunes.thecatchbots.com, operated by Christopher A. Jones, an individual in Texas, USA ("we", "us"). These terms cover your use of the bot, its commands, the website and the dashboard (together, the "Service"). By adding the bot to a server, using any of its commands, or signing in to the dashboard, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must also follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. If these terms conflict with Discord's terms, Discord's win.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old and old enough to use Discord in your country. If you add the bot to a server or change its settings, you confirm you have permission to manage that server.
3. What the Service does
The Service plays music in voice channels with Tunes, keeps server playlists, shows lyrics, and has a dashboard with a web player. Server admins choose the Tunes settings for their server with /setup tunes or the dashboard.
Tunes plays music in a server's voice channels. Members queue songs with /play or the dashboard, from server playlists kept in CatchTunes, or from playlists imported from a playlist link, a CSV file or a pasted list.
When Tunes plays a song, CatchTunes streams its audio into the voice channel. It does not download or store audio files. It stores song details (such as title, artist, length and a song ID) for queues, play history and server playlists.
4. Spotify
CatchTunes does not connect to Spotify and cannot play Spotify links. You can import a Spotify playlist into a server playlist from a CSV file you export yourself with a separate tool such as Exportify; CatchTunes only reads the file you upload. CatchTunes is not made, endorsed or supported by Spotify or Discord. Spotify is a trademark of Spotify AB.
5. Server playlists
Server playlists are kept in CatchTunes for the server. Managers, DJs and the server owner can create, edit, import and delete them, and anyone in the server can see them and queue songs from them while in the voice channel, subject to the server's Tunes settings.
6. Your conduct
Do not use the Service to break the law or Discord's rules, harass others, spam, attempt to overload or attack the bot or website, reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows, scrape it, or get around its limits. Do not use playlist names or other text you add to post hateful, sexual or otherwise harmful content.
7. Our rights
We may change, pause or stop any feature, limit use, and suspend or block any user or server that breaks these terms or puts the Service or other users at risk. We own the CatchTunes name, logo, code and content. You may not use our branding in a way that suggests we endorse you.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on Discord, streaming sources for the songs Tunes plays, and LRCLIB (for lyrics). We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Their own terms apply when you use them.
9. Price
The Service is free. If we ever offer paid features, they will be sold through Discord's own app subscriptions, and we will not charge you without your clear consent.
10. Disclaimers and limits of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise it will be accurate, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of US $50 or the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
You agree to cover our reasonable costs from claims that arise from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in El Paso County, Texas, or in small claims court where eligible.
12. Changes and ending use
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above and, for material changes, post a notice on the website or in our support server. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the new terms. You can stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot from your server and deleting your data with /deletemydata or on the dashboard.
